Doodles and Ditties for the Itty Bitty

We are a mother/daughter team with a core belief that “Humor, kindness, and generosity are serious business; and serious business is best accomplished with humor, kindness and generosity.”
One might even say a gibber-ist as I love to come up with non-sensical rhythms and rhymes.
As a Grandmother of six (so far ;) I
have been accused of having so many terrific kids just for a built in adoring
audience.
I pinky swear they all have great taste, are all
geniuses and are my best gage if something is giggle-worthy.
(Every grandparent should be this lucky- oh wait- they are!)
Our mutual admiration society works perfectly.
As a professional nationally recognized
award winning artist, I had the honor of leaving my mark
(murals are just lots of big paint marks) in well known large hotels, commercial businesses, model homes, personal residences; and I even
had the privilege to paint in The
Bethesda Navy Hospital and Walter Reed Army Hospital’s children’s wards in
Washington DC.
And as a professional artist, guilder and faux
finisher, I have taught at international artist conventions as well as local
classes.
I have a background in theatrical costume
and set design; and have a bio in theater that would just be too darn long to
type in here.
I have won multiple BIA awards, served as President of SGH, served as Chairman of the Speakers Bureau for the Navy Marine Corp relief society and chaired a gazillion different fund raising committees.
We
military wives seem to have a propensity for volunteer work.
I am still an active member of SCBWI, SALI/IDAL,
and my local genealogy club.
I am also one of the authors of the
famous/infamous SMUDGES: Pigments of our imagination. Checkout the Smudge page

In my spare time (there is no spare time it just sounded good to say I had spare time) I am a horse-a-holic. I am involved with several equine rescue
organizations and volunteer regularly with the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho
Santa Fe.
Their Therapeutic Riding Program is near and
dear to my heart-so as Certified Equine Massage Therapist- I enjoy helping
those horses that help so many folks.
If you never heard of Horse Massages feel

Again, I am so happy you decided to check us out and am delighted to share these gentle whimsical jingles, and proud to be a Quirk of ART!

In October of
2007 our area of San Diego survived a horrific fire. In honor of the heroic
dedicated service of our local firefighters at Engine House 33 this
painting was presented to them not only as a 'thank you' but a reminder to them
that they are deeply appreciated and treasured.
It was painted by
myself and Jan Dutcher, a phenomenal artist and terrific neighbor.

Korin, (the daughter and a
Mother of 3) has dual degrees in Human Development and Psychology. Currently she is deeply
involved with her children’s education and is the Vice President of the PTA at
their hybrid charter school as well as annually volunteering for the Meet the
Masters Program and other vital school support activities.
A strong advocate for
youth literacy, she successfully piloted a program to welcome community members
as reader’s into the classroom. Korin is a top notch photographer too.
She is also the co-leader of a Roots & Shoots troop in Temecula California.
Their outstanding community involvement and commitment to ecological issues has been recognized and acknowledged by Jane Goodall herself. Jane is the founder of Roots & Shoots.
This year they received the 2nd place trophy in the Temecula Christmas Parade

Together they have authored and illustrated the ‘Daisy Doodle Book” that is donated annually to Camp-to-Belong, Laura Schlesinger Foundation, NMRS, and other organizations that support children’s services.
