A story a day keeps the blues away

There was a nice family who lived in a shoe

With wonderful children and plenty to do

They'd swing from the laces

and slide down the tongue

With bath time and stories- when evening would come.

They helped out each other with all of the chores

Washing the windows or wiping down doors

Picking up toys and doing the dishes

Walking the dogs and feeding the fishes

Some helped with the homework

Each packed their own lunch

Tucked in the wee ones

All helped in a crunch

So blessed was this family

with Father and Mother

They thanked God each night

That they had each other

And just so you know,

as all stories end

There are lessons to learn

you can share with a friend

Do your part-share the load

Be gracious and kind

Be there for each other

when you're in a bind

Know you are loved

Count your friends and successes

They're more important

than life's little messes
